Push-to-talk. No radios. No hardware. No group chats.
Hold to talk. Release when you're done. Pick a callsign, name your wire, share the link — and you're live. Action Button, Siri, and the Lock Screen keep it in your pocket. Built for the family road trip and the church security team equally well.

Who it's for
A wire for the road trip, the campground, or the house. Leave it open in the background — when someone talks, you hear it. Missed a burst while the phone was in your pocket? Play it back, or read a transcript. Quiet otherwise. No pinging, no group-chat noise.
Church security, event staff, sports coaches, volunteer crews. Claim your wire, lock it down, approve who joins. Talk from the Action Button, Siri, the Lock Screen widget, or Live Activity — one tap, phone still in the pocket. No radios.
Live Wire Captions transcribe every transmission as people talk — free, always. Hearing Aid Mode, High Contrast, and Bluetooth aids / AirPods / the phone speaker are first-class, not an afterthought. Built for a family member with near-total hearing loss.
How it works
Choose whatever name you want — like a handle on a CB radio. Name your wire, share the link, and anyone with it can join. No account required to start.
Press and hold the big button. Talk. Release when you're done. Slide left to lock it open hands-free. On iPhone 15 Pro and later, the Action Button toggles transmit. Siri and Shortcuts can join, leave, or key up without opening the app.
Hold the scope icon next to any name to transmit directly to that one person. Only they hear you — everyone else stays quiet. One-on-one in the middle of a full wire.
Personal subscribers can lock down a wire name — yours, nobody else's. Approve who joins, assign roles, send invite links directly. Your channel, your rules.

What's included
Free to download. No account required to start transmitting. Siri, Shortcuts, and the Action Button stay free. Sign in for owned wires, replay, caption history, and Family Sharing.
The phone can stay in a jacket. Transmit from the Action Button. Ask Siri to join a wire. Tap the Lock Screen widget or the Live Activity. Shortcuts can even key up from an orientation automation — flip the phone, you're on the air.
Join, rejoin, leave, and toggle transmit are free. You don't need a subscription to use your hands.
iPhone 15 Pro and later. One control, no unlocking, no hunting for the app.
Spotlight, Home Screen, and Siri all speak the same intents. Free on every account.
The talk button stays on the Lock Screen for the whole wire. One tap. Done.
Wire Captions transcribes every transmission live — speaker by speaker, word by word. Read along as people talk. Works with hearing aids over Bluetooth, AirPods, wired headphones, or the phone speaker.
Live captions stay free, always. Personal and Family keep a 30-day Caption History on this device so you can browse, share, or delete a session later.
A rolling window of real speech on the wire — not dead air. Play the last exchange back, or open a transcript of what you missed while the phone was in a pocket or another app.
Transcripts of missed bursts are on-device and ephemeral. They are not Caption History. You hear it again, or you read it once, and it goes away.
A labelled control appears once there's something to replay. Per-speaker, gated on actual voice.
Captured only in the background, transcribed on the iPhone, then discarded. No cloud, no archive.
